First time CBR owner from Cincinnati!
So I just signed the title to my first big boy bike.
1999 F4
Runs and rides great only issue is a few cosmetic flaws of scrapped fairings on both sides.
Seeing as I got a killer deal on this bike, I figured it would be worth fixing and daily riding. The only touches it needs to be a pristine daily rider would be a new set of fairings. Everything else is perfect previous owner has records of all previous maintenance and service done by a local shop.
What I came to the forum for was a little insight on which fairing kit to purchase. I know there are tons out there but which are of actual quality? I'd like to get the tank included in the package but that seems to be pretty hard to find for the 99's. so if you all could shed a little light on a reliable source for fairing kits that's be awesome! I may end up powder coating the tank when I take the wheels to get painted as well if I don't find a kit with a tank. I want this to be a pretty unique bike. So I may go with the wing west replica kit as well. Idk yet. But I definitely want a race replica kit to turn some heads. Any input is appreciated. Thanks!!

Welcome to the forum Alex.
Congrats on finding a good bike. As far as fairings go, OEM are the best but are super expensive. You may be able to find some used pieces from around the internet then paint them to your liking. If you want to go aftermarket, there are many companies selling them. They are usually made overseas and the quality is not as good, but the price is a fraction of OEM. Look around the forum for reviews on their service and product. Some of them, like extremefairings (forum sponsor), will do custom schemes at no extra charge.
As far as the tank goes, none will come with tanks. You may be able to find a cover, but IMO it's cheesy. Your best bet is to find a tank and paint it, or use yours if it's in good shape.

Since your in need of plastics a popular thing to do with the F4 is update the look to the F4i like a split seat and possibly the front. Side plastics are the same for these two bikes so if you find a cheap set of those off an F4i go for it.
