Finally bought an inline.....
Greetings,
So, coming from a Duc M750 to an 08' CBR 600 was funner than I thought, and based on my limited review of this forum, it should result in more comedy as well [the Duc crowd is a bit uptight]. It's just in for its 600 mile service, which has given me time to deal with the exhaust issue. While I haven't taken this one above 7K RPM's yet, one thing is clear from my experience with other CBR 600's, more power please. [The handling and instantly comfortable riding position leave me with no regrets].
So, slip-on, slip-on with PWIII, full system ($$ yikes), or some combination of the above??
For the many of you who ride SC Mountains/Woodside/Alice's hit me up.

Welcome aboard Skyline!
"more power please"?
I think you just might have to get used to riding an inline 4.
With these 600s you have to really wring their necks to get some mojo...
Don't be afraid to redline the motor from time to time when it's broken in, its made for it!
But once you do you'll learn to LOVE it!

Welcome to the forums, are you still running in?? .. the engine may still be a little tight, often these bikes feel miles better with a few Ks on the clock ... also if you only rode it upto 7K expect major treats above this, although below 7K I have always found them totally tractable and useable, I find useful power from 4K upwards on my old F3
Good luck and ride safe!! :-)

Yep, still breeaking the engine in, just got it back from the dealer for its first service (where they broke my lower fairing by slipping a wrench on the oil filter...at least now I have an extra). It'll have well over 1K by Sunday afternoon, then I can start playing around in happy-rev land.
I'm certainly not judging the CBR's power on running it at less than half of redline. I've ridden a few inlines prior, ran them hard, and expect "major treats" above 10K, and apppreciate the advice about these bikes feeling better after a few K on the odo. I fully expect to run this bike to its full potential once it is prudent to do so. Given your much appreciated input, sounds like patience is the call before making any further performance decisions.
