yeah tell me about it. I want to take it off there so bad and actually put a descent muffler on there. Yeah the header pipe looks completely aftermarket. i will post a pic of it when i get a chance. all of those were taken with my phone so all i have to do is walk out side and snap a pic of it

Yeah that setup has to come off , the center stand is flopping around and make a
racket most likely and the pipe is also hitting the rear shock and ya dont need that
going on either......... so now the question for you to decide , back to a dual pipe
or continue with a single ?

Looks like a V&H header pipe with some poorly fitted parts store junk put on to make a mid pipe. Also your missing the pipes centerstand stop, that can be a bad deal if it cuts into the chain or the chain cuts into it (more likely). It appears the swedge fit between the two is not the same size and may be part of the rattle you hear. Also that clamp you may want to trade out for a band clamp to get a better seal, after going to an exhaust shop and getting them to make you a new mid pipe. That should not be to expensive, and have them make you a center stand stop at the same time and you will be GTG.

Hello fellow CBRs. just got my 96 1000f 3 months ago, and I love the old girl.The last time I rode was 87 on a brand new 87, that was 24 years ago.Its funny how I remember things from back then;how brave I was,what a great rider I was,ect...Jumped on my new old girl, wound her up to about 8 grand, and found that I ran out of rasins before I ran out of bike
