Welcome stumpy!

Don't worry about it mate. All it means it that your brain had caught up with those raisins...A good thing IMO since you'll get used to the power again and live to enjoy it.

Just got done putting oil, filter, airfilter, and plugs in her when I noticed a half inch breather T setup that goes from the two outside carbs Ts in the middle and dissapears towards the front. I thought I had knocked them loose while pulling plug wires, so I stuck them back on @ carbs an she wont run. took them off and she runs, what the?

I think my floats need a look at shes running rich. Im only making 22 mpg. Got two quotes, one for $375.00 + parts and one for $315.00 + parts for carb work. There are only two semi trustworthy places I can go to here on Oahu. One of my instructors at M.S.C. knows the pryor owner of this bike, hes an aussy that used to race back in the day. Bob pointed me to the lower quote, so Im gonna go with that.

What parts are they talking about stumpy? The floats just control the fuel height in the bowls before the needle valves shut the fuel off.

I think "semi-trustworthy" says it all mate.

Post a question in the main cbrf section about the running rich and mpg and go from there before spending any hard earned. A carb balance and a new air filter might be all it needs.

Default "She's a rich girl "

I just put a new K&N air filter, new oil filter, new plugs, and synthetic blend ($58.00 for 4 ltrs). Shes been running rich since I bought her, so I just started with the basics in hopes of leaning her up some. I'm not sure what they mean when they say it's my floats, or how much they'll do to the carbs. At higher R.P.M.s she's so smooth, so on the hwy I get good mpg, but around town only 20 mpg. There's a half inch breather hose that connects between carb 1&2 and 3&4 it Ts in the middle and goes forward to what I think is the evaporative emissions carb air vent control valve, well after I changed the plugs I noticed it was barely on on one side and off on the other. So I re-connected them, buttoned her up,and she would'nt start, dissconnected them and she runs.

It's all good - thanks for the PM- glad you enjoyed it.
To load pictures - go to the HOW TO on the main forum page -there's a section on loading pictures- shows you what to do.
You'll get the hang of it, you'll see ......
