Hi folks, just bought myself a 95 model. Been riding a FZ6R Yamaha so bit of a step up for me. Looks to be in good nick but has not been risen much so we’re starting a voyage of discovery together !!
Welcome to the forum! How many mi/k on the odo? Got 37k US miles on mine and climbing...
Had an 88 hurricane (beat to hell street fighter) 10 years ago and just bought a 95! Real nice shape, just needs a lot of love to get back on the road!
Hey Im Leif at 67 and new here...
Some weeks ago I had to sell my BMW K1200RS. That mashine was designed for racing competition. 169Hp rear wheel!!
One night far out on the countryside I passed an silver grey volvo something like this.
Three gears down 90km/h, 200m behind and then full throttle. I passed that car in 240km/h in a road for 90km/h. Sudddenly some blue light from car turned on for three seconds then off.
I decided right away to sell it and no more fast bikes.
Two days later I sold it. I promised my self to keep up with some old Yamahas and Hondas. No more Beamer ( I have had some during years all with R or RS).
At night after selling I saw a bike CBR100F 87 and gave an offer that was accepted. Black and red and hopefully slower. I will pick it up in june in the very north of Sweden 1300km from my home.
Now here.
For the moment I have one CB250N 79 and one CB400 81 the "New one" CBR1000F 87. I also have one Yamaha 750 side car from 79.
What I have seen here ,so far, is a lot of friendly people here sharing ideas as well as good advices.
Im looking forward to take part in this community.
If in Sweden or plan for it let me know.
The very best to you all
Thanks hamlin6 for welcoming me.
Yes and i love my stable
Below you can see the "new" bike.
In fact it is the only picture there is. right now.
I and my 7 year old daughter will pic the bike in june.
First trip will be about 2000km and I havent seen it in IRL yet. But mechanical i very good condition.
68000km. I can see that there must be some missing plastic upper right side of fairing.
Maby something for the winter to take care of.
If anyone here have a clue where to find that missing plastic pieze I would be glad.

great to see you aboard
i have a cbr1000f from 90 ( the later shape ) and with about 63000 miles since last 20 yrs
and 2 blackbirds
amazing condition for a 30yrs old bike
red and black
if you read the postings you will find out the issues with the bikes mainly CCT and leaky forks ( i have mine with gaiters )
if you want to keep it running for a longer time you may want to get a doner bike as the parts are very rare ( especially plastics )
a good site for this is germany ebay kleinanzeigen where a lot of older riders are givign up the sport and selling off these for almost nothing
have fun
paul
Thanks Paul for your advice.
It seem like you have som caring work as well for your bikes.
I like the process of riding listen to some new noice/sounds and figure out why and then fix it.
Its a kind of love for engineering and the human tribute to fight Newton and his laws and sometimes be glad for their existance.
Without his work we probably where out of the feeling of nice acceleration
As you see in the picture just under the screen and close to the fueltank, there are some missing plastic.
Im not the fancy type of guy but I want all the pieces in place and the mechanical parts in good condition.
I have some scratches as well. All scratches have their own story and helps me to remind whats happened in my life.
So also with all my owned bikes and stuff. Some call it patina I call it the process of life.
I will check ebay.
Thanks
LeifB
