Welcome to the CBR Forum Alex,

Good to see you found us as there is a very strong (and one could say possibly parochial) CBR1000F membership on the forum - from all over the world

Good luck with the key. Two ways I see of fixing the problem, 1. Remove the ignition switch (or pretol tank lock) and take it into a locksmith to get a key cut. Or 2. Buy a complete key set, including ignition lock, tank filler and seat lock off eBay (or a wrecker).

Of course you could just antagonise the previous owner till he/she found the original

Cheers, SB

Welcome to the world of CBRs and riding.

Lots of enthusiasm and expertise to tap on here, as well as friendly banter.

Enjoy.

The filler cap will probably be the easiest to remove. The ignition switch has given other members a lot of trouble to remove. Think it would be less hassle and cheaper to get keys cut for the bike rather than a new lock set.

BTY welcome to the forum!

Welcome to the CBR Forum Scorbally,

We don't have too many CBR750 Hurricanes on the site so doubly welcome

Do post some pics when you can, and feel free to ask any questions you need.

Cheers, SB

Try using Photobucket. Paste the "IMG CODE" of the pic on your post.

I'm from Ohio, USA. My 600f is pretty good condition considering the age on the bike. Shes black with original 'Hurricane' decals and has red wheels and seat. I bought her over the summer and have enjoyed her every spare minute I've had since then. I'm looking for some people to ride with in this area Southeast Ohio. I thinking about starting a bi-monthly ride for my ridingbuddies. Glad to meet y'all!
