I was lookin at a motor/transmission on ebay
I'm not sure the engine from a 1000F will even fit in the CB1000 frame without major alterations. (I'm up for correction here - don't know if anyone's ever tried it - I know I haven't)
And yes, front brakes for steel hoses due to locking up the rear (not a good thing)

You could try e-Bay for the hoses - many sellers market them in all sorts of colours.
As far as shocks go, maybe Wilbers or any of the reputable shock manufacturers.
It is even possible to have your current shock/s rebuilt - again there are a number of engineering shops that specialise in shock refurbishing. Not cheap though.

There aren't many aftermarket items that you can buy for the 1000F. I've changed my levers for "shorty" models with adjusters, you can fit Panniers, screens, different rear indicators, exhaust, and add some "carbonfibre " to some bits if that's your thing.HID lights make a HUGE difference. 35W is plenty. Corbin seats are available too.

HenryM has a modified camchain tensioner which we are trying to get him to produce (so far without result - HINT HINT)

Maybe that will help you

Thanks for all the support guys. I bought a used corbin seat on ebay not realizing that corbin still makes one. Never would have thought they would still make a seat for a bike that was only around for a couple years. I found the braided hoses on ebay as you all suggested. Will probably invest in those. They arent too expensive. I thought the only difference with the motor would have been the cams, pistons, and carbs. I could be wrong though. I bought the cams and carbs so i will probably get around to putting those on. Carbs came off the same year bike, just the cbr1000f, so they should fit without problem.
