F4i lower temp fan switch & maybe other models
OK.. just check the online fiche, and the F4 and F4i list the exact same thermofan switches... so the lower temp one that was listed above should fit the F4 as well.. can anyone confirm?
Did the switch mod yesterday. Took about 30 min, but I have the fairing off already. Sorry I didn't take any pictures during the process, but it's so easy you'll get the idea with these.
First pic is of the wires, bottom wire is the lead going to the fan switch, the top one is a ground on the fan mount.
next pic is of an old switch, $4 radioshack variety. I picked up one with an extra connection to illuminate the switch. I didn't run another line to power the switch cause how needs a trick radiator switch.
Last pic is where the switch is mounted. Not a good place, it hits the ram air hose. I'll fix that some other time.
Hope that help

Just a thought but has anyone thought of maybe having the fan come on with the bike in neutral? I don't think it will have any problems cooling while moving just while sitting still right? Any insight?
I live in Yuma Az, and sofar this year our temps have been between 105 and 110, and sofar my fan hasn't kicked in at all. my temp gauge hasn't moved while riding but it has maybe moved a bit while sitting at the light... i don't know.
