I had really good luck with my latest set: Dunlop Qualifiers. They were really sticky and I got more mileage out of them than my D208's, which were also pretty decent. I hear the Michelin Pilot Powers are also really good. Can't go wrong with either. My suggestion: don't cheap out on tires.
I tried pilot powers and thought they were good? but it wasn't til I tried the pirelli corsa PROs, that I found out what good, really is..It is by far the best street legal tyre, only thing is they only come in 190/55/17, only 55series no 50 in the PROs, but it makes the bike turn better anyway with this profile...
yea but the corsa isn't in the same class as diablos, pps, and qualifiers! it's geared like 70/30 track/street...
and they definitely won't last for riding around town, they'll be squared in a jiffy.
i say diablos, pp, or qualifiers...they should all get your around 5K center tread...and do well in the twists, if you want a bit more than that but also want stick, then go with diablo stradas.

I've tried all the one's mentioned here except the strada & corsa and I can't say that anything was better than pilot powers. My rule is never go cheap on tires but these guys usually outsell anyone else on the internet.

I would go with either a Dunlop Qualifier, which I have on now and really like. They stick very well, or the new Metzeler's Sportec M-1. They grip very well as well. I dont know the life on those though, but my buddy has them on his Busa and SWEARS by them. Good luck, but dont skimp out. By me in Orlando right now, Qualifiers are going for $189.99 from and back installed. Good luck
