I just noticed thati have a few slice like cuts on the rear tire, but im not worried for now since the bike just sits there and collects dust(still in the 20's here). My questions is, how common is it to have cuts on the tires and is it something to worry about? The cuts are not deep and very thin. Whats up with that?

 

what do you mean by slice? Pictures would be helpful.

Maybe I know what you're talking about though. On my tires (rear mainly) there's several 1" cuts, but not deep enought to penetrate the tire. Not sure how they get there. I got paranoid once and thought someone was trying to slash my tires. But I think it's from the road.

 

You tend to get nicks and gouges from rocks and crap on the street. As long as you dont see cord, and theres no sidewall damager you're probably ok.
