Default Trouble Starting??

Hey guys quick question my 01 cbr f4i gave me a little trouble starting today. i havent road it in since monday because its been raining every day. so since it finally stopped raining i went out just to start it up and it gave me a little hard time. i had to hold down on the button for like 10 to 15 seconds before it finally cut on which is not normal. normally i just hit it and it cuts on and now it took so long. i let it run for a little and reved it up. turned it off and then try to turn it back on and it did the same thing. Does anyone know why that might be?

Could be all sorts pal from a dying battery and or reg/rec, could be wet plugs from not being ridden and just left to idle you'll have to do some investigating mate

I wouldn't worry just yet, I know my bike is hard to start when its cold. If you want to do some preventative maintenance then I would recommend getting some electrical contact cleaner and Di-Electric grease; go through every connection and clean it out with some q-tips and a tooth bush than pack the connections with the grease, lastly, clean your battery terminals very thoroughly. The Di-Electric grease will displace water, keep your connections corrosion free, and waterproof them if the bike gets wet. As far as hard to start, well it could very well be your battery being cold. Do you still have a hard time starting it on hot days? It could be the type of oil your using, there are a multitude of things that hard starting can point to. Don't sweat it too much and pack your connections (If they don't fix this problem that's fine because you should pack your connections anyways). Give a bit more time than 6 hours and more people might respond.
