Default testing a pulse generator

so i bought a 1987 cbr600 and was working fine and then all of a sudden the bike would basically just start when it wants to, very random. no pattern. after going through and checking components i came to the pulse generator i have flow between the yellow and yello/white wires although there is no flow between the blue and blue/white wires. according to a manual i found on the net i should have current between both of them. is this correct and if so can this cause my bike not to start? any help is thanked
