If you're talkin about the crankshaft pulse generator and not the camshaft pulse generator (which i'm assuming you are since the section you posted in was for carbed bikes)... it's a sensor that picks up the position of your crankshaft as it spins on your bike and sends that information to the bikes ECU, which in turn uses it to calculate the best time to fire your spark plugs (since i'm assuming this isn't an F4i, ... which the cam sensor tells it when to open it's fuel injectors) ...

here's a picture of a new one that's for sale on ebay ...
Honda cbr600 F3 Crank pulser sensor | eBay
you can find them online (as with the one posted here) or order one at a local motorcycle dealership ...

It's mounted to your engine case on the right hand side ... remove the fairings there and locate the sensor with the yellow & yellow/white wires coming out of it ....

If youre refering to what makes your spark plugs fire, its a rotor on the left side of the engine, under the cover. If youre refering to what charges your batteries and makes your bike have voltage, its your stator under your right side cover.

Thats because your 89 600 doesnt have a sensor. What is the problem with your bike?

Its on the left side of the bike, under the tank, near where all of the connectors are.
