Default Sticky throttle

Hey guys i just but a 96 f3 and am having alittle trouble with the thottle. When i bought it the right handle bar was slightly been cuz of a drop and we thoguht thats whyt he trhottle stuckle, but appearently its not. It takes mroe effort then it should to tiwst it towards me and then it doesnt twist back on its own u have to twist it back with ur hand. does anybody have any diea what to do, is it justa wd40 kinda htink or is there something bigger?

It could be a few parts. You need to slowly cut things out of the loop. Start by taking the throttle appart and just using the cables directly. If it returns then you need to look at the throttle assemly on the bar. If it doesn't. Disconnect the cables and operate the throttle directly. If it still doesn't return then your spring is dead/gone or something is scrapping. Sounds more like something is bent and/or scraping since it is hard both ways. If you find out it's the cable you can try to lube them up, but it would probably be safer to replace them.

Check the throttle cable adjustment on the bar 1st

Yes the easiest thing to check is throttle freeplay. There should be about 1-2 mm of throttle turn before the carb butterflies actually begin to open. A tight throttle cable will be hard to turn and won't return correctly.

I had a friend that put after market grips and bar ends on his bike a caused a similar effect!! Check the grips and bar ends!!

cable is mucky, get a new one. Could try wd-40 but probably wont work well.
