Rotella T

I just came home from Canadian Tire, the blue jug is marked T6 and the white jug (synthetic blend) is T5. Maybe the places you looked at had old stock or something.

I emailed this question to Shell Technical Support:

I used to purchase the Shell Rotella T 5w40 in the blue container. There was also a Shell Rotella in a white container. Now I don't see the standard Rotella T in the blue container, but I do see the Rotella T6 5w40 in the blue container. Has there been a name change, product change, or is this an entirely new synthetic version of the oil ?
- Dear Sir,
The Rotella products have had a name change. The 5w-40 synthetic is now called "T6". Still meets the same specifications.

Most bike manufacturers tell you to use a "non energy conserving" oil. Energy conserving oils may cause clutch slippage (but wont fry them). Rotella is one of the fuel oils that, being a diesel oil, IS "non energy conserving." Its all I used when I had my Ninja 250, and all I've ever put in my CBR F2. 20,000 on original clutch from PO, 15,000 on new (OEM) clutch with nothing but Rotella. Still felt new when I sold the motor.
I swear by it and I enjoy the looks people give me when I tell them what oil I use.

The more i read the more i cant wait for my next oil change.
I just spent 70 bucks on my oil change last week.
Honda Filter-$10.00
3qts mobil 1-$30.00
Being retarted and forgetting to put the drain plug back in-Priceless or 3qts of oil.
3 more qts of oil-$30.00.
Im goin to read up on it more since everyone is saying its better.
Quick question. My wifes 99 Monetero has 110K on it and i was running can i switch to the T6 on such an older car? I just had the cam seals replaced cause they started leaking. I also had the timing belt, water pump, starter, ac recharge and all the belts replaced. So im wanting this car to go for another 100k and if T6 is better on eninge wear why not?
Thanks

Curious as to what you "were" running in it? Not that it really matters. If it was a dino oil, then yeah... T6 would be better for it.
Another one to consider would be the Mobil 1 and Mobil 1 high mileage (HM has some seal conditioners in it)
Mobil 1 is a real robust synthetic oil that's only $21 for 5qts at wally world right now.
