Default Rivet type master link question

I wanted to know if I use the Chain Breaking tool to take apart my chain can I use the same rivet style master link? I know this may be a dumb question but I am still new to doing the chain and sprocket thing. Thanks in advance for any help.

You want to replace arivet style master link with another rivet style master? If so, that should be no problem as long as you can rivet the new master. I believe they are sold independentlly in case that's all you need. As long as the pitch and overall size matches the chain you should be able to.

That was pretty fast for a response and thank you. I want to change my front sprocket and I have to take the chain off. If I break the original rivet link can I re use it to put the chain back together once I get the sprocket put on? Thank you.

no you can't reuse the original master link/rivet.
you don't need to break the chain to put in a different front sprocket!!
