with a rivet type, you will either have to pay for a 189 dollar tool or you need to bring it to a shop and have them put it together for you. I have a DID chain and I had to order another new link to have put inplace of the one they have to break when i put a used chain on my bike.

O.K. Thank you for the responce.

I guess I am still wondering what a rivet type connecting link is... I am framiliar with master links on pedal bike chains that have like a "C" clip... Is there a possibility of chaing out a "rivet" type master link for a "C clip" master link??? so i dont have to spend 200$ on some tool?

Yes they sell clip on connecting links for about $5 some people say they are weak but if all you do is street ride and beat on it once and awhile its fine. Mine has held up for 6 months now and i wheelie it almost everyday, just make sure you buy it for the right size chain
