Hey guys, I have an 07 600rr and i noticed that occasionally when i'm sitting at a stop light my engine temp rises very quickly from 172 degrees to over 200 degrees in a matter of 20 seconds or so...The temp never goes past 223 because the fan kicks on and cools it down. Also when I begin to cruise after the stop light the temp comes down so i'm pretty sure the thermostat isnt sticking. I checked the coolant level and it ws 4 ounces low so i filled it up. Any thoughts on this? Is it normal?

 

That's normal, mine will go from 175-225 in no time riding in town/stopping at lights. Then right back to 175 as soon as I start cruisin again. I thought it was weird too at first, but that's just the way they are

 

Yep they get hot fast, dont worry bout it.

 

Just check out the coolant level again after a ride; coolant will go down a bit occasionally. Remove any bubbles/air when topping up.
Apart from that your bike behaving perfectly with the temperature.

 

i think the fan switch on my f3 was around 212,i bought one for a car that kicks on at 170
