Default Engine Temp

Just wondering what the high end of range of engine temp is normal. Im in Texas, so alot of times it about 95+degrees outside. My bike is an '03 600rr with about 12K miles. When im sitting at a stop light for awhile on ahot day, it usually reaches about 230degrees, that sound about right???

I think that the repair manual says that anything above 251 is overheating on my 954. I think that yours would be similar. I have hit 230 a couple of times on my bike sitting in traffic. Thank God that California allows us to lane split. The biggest headache is sitting a stop lights.

Thanks, thats what I figured but I wanted to make sure I didnt need to consider changing the types of fluids I use.Pretty new to owning a bike if that was a stupid Q. BTW, I doubt I would split lanes even if it was legal in Texas. I wonder how long it will be before CA reconsiders that one....
