I’m new to the CBR scene. Looking at a 2002 Honda CBR 600 F4i. The guy wants $1500. Going into it he said the cam chain tensioner will need to be replaced soon. He said it also runs rich, but I think that’s an easy fix as the o2 sensor isn’t hooked up and it’s got a shorty pipe. In theory just hook up the o2 sensor and put a stock pipe back on. Any thoughts? Is this a good deal or will I be in over my head? Thanks
@ABlevDawg It all sounds reasonable. Keep in mind that only the California model had the O2 sensor, so you'd want to verify that it actually is one. If you saw the sensor hanging there, then that's probably a good indication, but check the VIN. AC is for the California model.
I guess that will be a question for the DMV. I'd make sure you get a Bill of Sale from the person. Maybe even get a Notary involved. We all want to be trusting, but we also don't want to be buying Hot items either. Depending on where in the world you're located, that information could be available online. An example is, here in FL you can post a VIN number on the DMV site and they can tell you the status of the vehicle registration and title.
