Default Any welders in san diego?

So, I just bought a Jardine RT1 hi-mount, and being my first aftermarket exhaust I didnt think anything about this O2 sensor deal. Then my buddy tells me to check and make sure there's a port, because his hi-mount didnt have one. WHAT?!

Well, i read a few threads on here and it looks like I can either get an O2 sensor suppressor (or whatever its called) or, if it doesnt cost an arm and a leg, punch a hole in the mid pipe and weld a mount for my O2 sensor.

Has anyone done this, any idea on the cost? My thinking on trying to do this is based on what i read from some posts. Looks like taking the O2 sensor out of the mix makes the gas mileage go down. One of the reasons i bought the bike was for a commuter, so gas mileage is a good thing, and having it go back down doesnt make me happy. I havent taken a good look at my sensor set up yet, planning to do that tomorrow, but how complicated would this be? I imagine just punching a hole in the midpipe at the proper location, finding a nut that fits the O2 sensor, and then welding/brazing the nut to the pipe. Any thoughts, advice, help? Thanks!

Casey
