Problem starting my bike
My 600 F4i is having problems starting. I turn the key, and fuel pump does not prime. All lights on my dash light up (both turn signals, high beams etc..) except for the FI light. Now if it attach the battery to a charger it and try, it starts up. My thought was bad battery, but i took it in to have it checked and the battery is fine. I can start the bike off the battery charger afterwords. Then if I let it sit over night it will do the same thing again.
Here is a picture of my dash so you can see what i am talking about

I pulled off the front faring to check wiring. By taking the faring off it started to work *everything was still connected* so i get the feeling that there is some wiring that is having problems. For now i unplugged everything cleaned the connections and put it back together. Ill let it sit again overnight and try it tomorrow. If all works ill let you know but I'm not holding my breath.
If this helps you guys tell me what is specifically wrong, I would love to know to help prevent this problem from happening again, or so i can fix it quicker next time.

Good advice from CJardine and I think you solved the problem when you took the fairing off. All you need to do is wiggle all the connections around and see which one is causing the problem with the starting. Funny though that the bike started with a charger connected. The battery may seem ok but once you try to start the bike, the starter motor takes a lot of current from it and isn't enough to overcome high compressions. On a trip to Manchester a few weeks ago, I'd had my dipped beam headlight on and had left the ignition on, but had killed the engine via the 'kill' switch when I'd stopped to get some cash at a garage next to the service area. I'd only taken less than a minute to get some cash from and the battery was as flat as a pancake when I returned to the bike to carry on my journey. Fortunately a guy on a BMW gave me a push and the bike started ok. I left my lights off for the rest of the trip with no more problems since. However, I am going to get a new battery but I'll have to wait until I have the dosh as they are around £90-120! Phew! Good luck with solving your problem.
