I have an 06 F4I with 9400 miles, and it has popped out of gear a couple of times on me in the past couple of months. It doesn't do it at any certain time. The first time I had just gone back to 1st and started to get on it ( at low speed) then it jumped to neutral at about 6500, that was great for a laugh as I fell forward hitting the limiter and smashing the horn button with my thumb. The second time was today just steadily going through the gears at a medium pace then jumped from 5th back to 4th. Can this be a fluke thing, or could there be a bigger prob? I have tried to get it to do it intentionally, but nothing. I tried shifting up early and going full throttle at low R.P.M. 's and tried bringing it up about 6500-7000 then backing off and hitting it again ,but nothing.
