Default popping on decel.

when my bike is decelerating the exhaust starts popping from about 7000 to 5000 rpm, i hate it and it just sounds terrible, is this caused by timing being out?, if so how do u check the timing. thanks.

I am having the same problem. Trying to get answers out of some pro tuners on another board at the moment. It is either needle jets or pilot jets that are too lean.

Are you running an aftermarket exhaust? If so, the jets in your carbs are the wrong size.

It's pretty much impossible for your bike to jump timing. The only way that would happpen is if the timing marks werent lined up on installation

check for exhaust leaks from your headers to the pipe. beyond that you are lean. Try turning pilot jets out in 1/2 turn increments.

i have a D&D aftermarket exhause on it, also i do have a small exhaust leak on the manifold right near the head. so this may be a cause?
