Default Oil filter stuck

Evening all & thanks for having me.

I’ve just purchased a 2003 cbr 600 & the oil filter won’t budge.
I tried a chain style remover but it starts crushed the filter & won’t un tighten it.

I have hit a screwdriver through the end nearest the exhaust so to miss the screw that this is secured to and tried to use this but again, it won’t budge.

I’ve been spraying it with WD40 for a couple of days and this hasn’t helped.

any ideas?

i thought about removing the exhaust pipes and getting an oil filter flute on it but I’m not confident this will un screw it either.

Attached a pic but I’m sure you all know what one looks like.

any advice would be appreciated.

I used a chisel & gently tapped it with a hammer counter clockwise and it eventually freed the rusty filter! Thanks for everyone’s help.

Hey there. Back in the olden days when we had a stuck filter we would wrap a leather belt around it, feeding it though the buck in the direction so that when you pulled on the tail of the belt you would be pulling in the loosening direction.
if this didn’t work it at least provided a non slip service to grab ahold of.

I realize I sound like Grandpa Simpson. “So I tied an onion to my belt, which was the style at the time. “

Wow, that sure is corroded.
I would try to split the bottom of the filter from the oil pump with a cold chisel or something on either side to break the rust sealing it on.
I know that sounds a bit drastic but there is only a relatively small amount of metal at the edges before you get to the rubber seal that needs to be freed off!
Once that is done 'Grandpa Simpsons' idea should work.

Just drive a screwdriver all the way through it from one side and out the other about an inch or so from the engine. Use it as a T handle. It's messy and what not, but it's disposable so who cares.

Thanks, i didn’t realise that rust was the filter & didn’t want to start whacking it.
I’ll go around it as much as I can with the filter with a chisel and then try and unscrew it again.

cheers mate. I’ve ordered one but the exhaust pipe to the left of the filter is virtually against it with about 3 mm so I’ll take the exhaust off it needs be and have a go with that!

Well that means you'd have to borrow them or buy them. Then what do you do with them after? You mean use them next time?
