If thats the only reason you want to change it, I wouldn't bother. your speedo is probably only off by about 3% over stock at 55mph. I'm going to guess your at 60 ish at 55. Stock usually has about a 8% higher reading that what your actually going as well, so that adds up to about 5mph all together.
Taking that into consideration. If you put on 10,000 miles, thats only 300 miles extra on your odometer. Not worth the cost of changing if your trying to save money.

also, how did you do your math to get 300?
Id say its a good choice to get a speedohealer. I waited a long time to get one and wished I would have sooner than I did. My stock gearing had my speedo off about 5mph according to gps, then I went -1 on the front and +1 on the rear and was off by about 8 mph according to gps. Its really nice knowing what my speed actually is now.

ok, so then i'm actually 12% off, which would be an extra 1200 miles every 10,000 miles
Your best bet is to save for the speedohealer like you mentioned before.

Also, keep in mind that a stock odometer is calibrated with little or no error but the speedometer is not. If you add a Speedohealer, your odometer will actually be slightly less than actual.

so with that information I forgot. You will only be 300 miles over if you put on 10,000 on the bike.
