Question about the front sprocket

It's not a 5 minute job. There are a couple of covers to remove and you'll need to put the bike in gear when you take off the securing nut. Be careful when removing the gear drive for the speedo. As I recall the clutch slave cylinder has also to be removed.....(?) It's a while since I did mine
Probably take you around 1 hour.

Just the sprocket cover - the slave cylinder stays attached to the clutch cover.
Take the speedo cable off though
Make note of the different bolt sizes and where they go as well and the little
"metal" guides.
Putting the cover back on the clutch will have relaxed making the cover stand off
just push firmly and it will give , also the speedo drive socket - make sure it's orientated
for the sprocket nut.
The sprocket is supposed to float, as in give a little side to side and not be bolted
rigid to to the output shaft ....... just an fyi
