Default NEED Help for a very unusual situation!

I just bought a 2007 600 RR. Love the bike bit it is doing something very strange. I will be cruising along at 60 mph. I will have a reason to close the throttle(SUV and cell phone) Braking will occur intermitently with no brakes being applied. Had the brakes checked today and everything is perfect. I am thinking it is engine braking but not sure. If you have an idea, let me know. Many thanks.

you would be correct, its engine braking. but i don't see why this would be an unusual question as almost every bike ever made has had engine braking? all u gotta do is just barely let off the throttle and it will cruise at the same speed. u need to know everything about your bike before you ride. i am not poking fun at you but u might need to read a little on modern bikes if your gonna ask these types of questions. for you safety, and mine!

Default I have been riding for 42 years.

Canhead-- In 5th gear over 52 mph, when I close the throttle the bike will slow down as if the brakes are being applied and then released. Is this normal?

on my f4 if i do 60 and hit the front brake i can stop in about 200 feet or so. unless its stopping that fast its just engine braking. and yes at certian speeds it can throw you forward a little but not enough for me to ever think about it being the brakes brakes though.
