Default LED speed

I installed the usuall integrated tail light and flushmounts and I like the faster pace of the flashing LED's, no problem with this is there, other than the fact that they flash faster, wear out faster....so on?

I like the fast flash myself. You'll find tons of posts from people wanting to slow it down and then running into problems trying to do so. I personally like it fast and feel it attracts more attention when I'm signalling. Don't see any problems with it and I'm pretty sure they don't wear out faster or anything. They're LEDs so they don't get hot and use less amps which actually makes them last longer.

LED's usually last for nearly an 1000+ hours of continuous run time so you should be fine. They aren't going to wear out anytime soon aslong as you aren't giving them to much voltage.

when I installed them the directions said to use the enclosed relay if I wanted to retain the stock speed, so I hooked them up to what other speed was there and liked it, so never put in the relay, just didn't want it to be one of those oh crap moments later down the road when I burnt out something, but it seems that I won't have to worry about that. Thanks fellas.

What brand of flushmounts are we taling about here? I've read so much about adding resistors and relays that it sounds like a real pain to get the look . . .

My bad, it was a resitsor that was included, not a relay. I bought the flushmounts from e-bay and they were from lockhardt phillips....one word though, if you buy, check about how they secure to the fairing....I didn't, and when they came, I was amazed to see that just double-sided tape holds them in!!!!!!! Can't complain though I guess, they haven't budged since I mounted them. But I'd rather have the ones that secure by a tab-screw on the backside of the fairing.... And the tail light came from Clear alternatives. Not a pain to install. For the flushmounts, I didn't even have to take the fairings off all the way, just the rear part of them so I could slide my hand in enough to unplug the factory and plug in the flush-mounts, ans enough room to fit a shorty screwdriver in to undo the stock turn signals. The tail light was a tad bit more, a little cutting and splicing, but simply round peg round hole type complexity to it.

I have used those five LED stick on light from Lockhart and they lasted three years on my VTX and one year 12K on my ZRX. (Sold 'em) That tape is the same that holds the emblems on the sides of cars, it's good.

The resistor simply ground across the positive and negative (Like you're trying to short it out) But they do get really warm so be careful where you mount them. Zip ties will handle the heat.

The stock flasher flashes extremely quick because of the low current draw. The flasher actually thinks a bulb is out, (hint the extremely fast flashing). Doesn't hurt anything, just flashes quickly. Doesn't burn out LED's any faster either. You might go through a flasher unit quicker though. If you want the stock speed (without wiring in a relay) get an Electronic Variable Load Flasher. They cost about 10 bucks at any local automotive parts store. I believe the CBR's use a thermal flasher which is the reason is flashes quickly.
