RE: installing k&n
Look, if you're not going to give us all the information (like what kind of bike you're talking about) NOBODY IS GOING TO HELP YOU.
It's like the first rule of the internet. If you're going to make a new topic and are going to ask a question, you MUST BY INTERNET LAW provide all the pertinent information.

hahahahah, thats pretty harsh bro...
If you have an newer bike is there side panels that run from the tank to the front cowl? If you do, theres more than likely a few screws there... theres also some under the side skirts (little plastic pieces beneath the seat) and you should have the seat off too.... just go around it and make sure ALL are off, and the whole circular part of the gas cap (allen head screws) is off.... after you know for sure EVERYTHING is out, give it some gentle tugs on each side and start pulling up... might take a bit of effort, they form the pieces pretty well.
on my 03 RR after I got all the bolts out and knew for sure it was ready it took a bit of pulling/spreading but then it came right off.... good luck bro.
ps.. if it is an RR.. its just a plastic cover over the gas tank/airbox/ecu.... also, if you you dont have one, hit up stephygee.com... a bunch of free manuals are provide "THANK YOU Stephygee!"
