False! I ran no gauges for several months after I flipped a stoppie and bent the bracket that hold the gauge cluster on. Never had any problems. FYI mine is an 06'.

 

I just bought mine. It was stolen from the previous owner. stripped of all plastics, instument clusters and lights. just tryin to start it up. fyi i paid 2600 for it. it is a 2006 600 rr. it is in transit right now.

 

sounds like you got a heck of a deal. hope it was not a scam. it should start up for you w/o the gauges, if there is an ignition.

 

Has a salvage title. not a scratch on whats left of thr bike.

 

Post up some pics of it when you first get it so we can watch the progress as you get it running and put back together.

I have recieved my bike and bought it new fairings, cluster, stay, flush mount signals.

I just bought a 06 600rr with 1400 miles on it from a friend that bought it cash in november or 06 and he crashed it. I had to but a starter relay and fix two broken wires. There is no guage cluster and as a matter of fact not much of anything cosmetic on the bike and it fired right up. No air box, the secondary injectors are just hanging over the throttle bodies, not even facing them and it runs like a champ. guess I am going with the streetfighter style until I get the plastics. I only paid $500 for it
