i'm getting a little more free play in my clutch than i like. how can i take some of the slack out of it. I tried to search but couldent hit the right thread. thanks

 

you can adjust it in two places....first one is at the handlebar. by twising the adjustable bolt it will create less play in the wire (by unscrewing it) then tighten the nut once you have adjusted it. second you can adjust it at the other end of the cable. on my bike this is above the stator cover on the right side of the bike. this works in the same concept as the the handlebar adjustment, but is 2 nuts that yo will have to loosen to the same degree, adjust and retighten....let me see if i can find some pics.

 

Here ya go, this is obviously not the handlebar adjustment (thought i would say it just in case), adjust the nuts the in the direction of the arrow, that will tighten the cable up.

i get kinda what your saying. I want to adjust from the handlebars. Ive loosened the washer looking nut now do i want to turn the nuton the cable in the direction of tighting it or is there somthing i missing because it doesn't seem to take the slack outta my lever any. 06 f4i

 

i adjusted it thanks mang. just needed a coke and a smile on it

 

got it done? cool. you cant always adjust it all the way from the handlebar if the lower adjustment is not correct.
