honda cbr f4i starting troubles
I have a 2001 honda cbr f4i i picked up as a project and i cant get spark and there is two things i have came too it being either the ecu or the cam pulse generator ( in the head of the motor left side ) i was wandering if any one out there could tell me if that sensor could cause the bike not to spark thanks
I think if it's not working or the cam timing is out the bike won't spark at the right time, when the fuel's going in, so, no it won't run. The ECU would also have that effect but it's not likely to be that - they seldom give trouble IME.
Have you done a compression test ?
Are your coil plug leads on the correct plugs ?
Both of the above will give you a dead engine, too.

im not running any fuel to the bike i have the plug out and trying to just get spark withe the plug grounded .. and there is no spark at all so i made sure to run thru and check all grounds and connections .. and i went through a test for the electronics one by one and so far all i have is the cam sensor is lower volts then specified in the manual im using its supposed to be .07 and im getting .02 or .03 . so im leaning towaeds that but hopeing the ecm is still good .. should i try changing that or look for other options .. thanks for your response by the way im starting to pull my hair out already haha
i have the tank on the side for now i was just checking for spark and i cant seem to get it . i have done a number of test to check other electrical compnets that could cause it and all i have is ecm or the cam pulsar .. the test i did on the cam pusar came out as bad it had .03 volts and the requirment was .07 according to the book i am using so it must be bad but will it affect spark .. or is that only the ecm i am looking into buying another one of the two but dont wanna spend the money and purchase something thats still good
