Fuel Turn-off POLL
I was in the habit of turning it off. Had a '76 CB750 and it would flood out sometimes if I didn't turn it off. Now I just turn it off if I'm not going to be riding for awhile.
Yes, I have forgotten that I've turned it off and would let the bike warm up, then hopped on to go for a ride.... it would die. I would have the tank off, the air cleaner off trying to figure out what happened. The wife would come out and ask me what I'm doing, and say "Did you turn the gas on?" Now I remember. BTW for the '97 900's, don't forget about the vacuum line, I have, some story, but repeat.

This thing is kinda jaded... you'll have a bunch of people with an F4I or an RR that will click "Never".
That being said, I said all the time. I had a Honda Rebel and I switched that thing every time I stopped (if it was goign to sit for any amount of time).
On the flip side... when I had my Yamaha FZR... I stopped turning it off. (A. The thing leaked internally, so it didn't do any good. B. It also seeped externally, and I got tired of my hand smelling like gas all day at work or at home.)

Only turn off when leaving for a few weeks, otherwise no. Was told by a bike tech that tap was vac operated and when engine not running wouldn't let fuel through anyway. Apparently any tap that has a vac pipe from carb inlets operates this way, and they will only leak if an internal seal has gone. Who am i to argue
