never cause id probably forget to turn it back on... but i have a 929 so i dont have to worry about this

Yeah, its a habit that started eons ago when you had turn the fuel off on most bikes or suffer the consequences.
Funny thing though, I'll remember to do that, but walk around for hours (at & home & in public) oblivious to fact that my fly is underdone.

MSF instructor said to always do it and i guess i made it a habit...id feel funny not turning it off...

When I had a carbed bike I never turned it off either.....

Yep when I was rocking the F3 the only time I ever hit that switch was to go from on to reserve and back.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't that because of the type of detergents in gasoline at the time (way back when Pace was a Cub Scout)?
