front brake wont work
I took my first fall last night, while making a left turn, my back wheel slipped out on me and I went into a curb. The front wheel hit the curb and the bike fell over on the right side. The only problem I'm having is that my front brake doesnt work. i.e. When Ii press down on the brake handle, it wont brake unless I pump it. After a few presses and releases, the brake works but once i start riding again the same happens. (No brake pressure) I'm not sure whats wrong, any suggestions?

Man I wish I could help you. Glad to here your ok though. Checked braked fluid to see if low or a small leak anywhere? Be patient, you came to the right place for your info, you just got a response from the wrong guy. [sm=imsorry.gif]
seems to me like air go into ur brake lines. U will need to bleed ur front brakes. I think ive done it like 20 times and yet it seems as if i still have bubbles in the lines. but thats the first thing i'd check. If you don't know how to bleed ur brakes, search, almost all bikes n cars the same way. I'd suggest you get speed bleeders if you're gonna do it urself, much much easier....trust me.....

You have a bent rotor; I promise. It wouldnt build pressure if air was in the line. When your sitting still you can pump the lever and youll have pressure right, but as soon as you roll the bike your brake lever goes all the way to the bar. Tell me if im wrong. Spin your wheel while its on a jack and try to see which rotor wobbles.
bleed it and check the rotor for sure but i would be thinking about the master there is a lil vlalve that moves in and out and depending on how the bike fell it is very possible that either the brake lever is jacked or the master it self also check for any restrictions ie kinked brake line let us know what u find out and dont fall and u wont have these problems
Thanks all for the replies, I checked for any kinks in the brake lines and found nothing. The rotors did not look bent, but it is possible. I"ll put it on a stand and rotate the wheel to be sure tommorow.
pizzle954rr - You're right that when i'm sittin still that I build pressure when pumping the brake lever and once I roll again, the lever goes to the bar. But even when rolling if I pump the lever the brake builds pressure and works. When I stop after a roll the brake lever will initially go the bar as well.
I thought about air getting into the brake line, but I don't understand how that could have occured. But I'll still try bleeding the brakes and then see what happens and I'll post my results.
