from what i have seen what in cars i have worked on, it does no good and for a low milage engine like yours, i wouldnt advise it. a true flush would be breaking down the engine to bare block, remove the pistons and have the block cleaned and bathed, smooth the cylinder walls then reassemble with new rings and seals

I need help because my bike has been in moth ***** since I was told it has low compression by my mechanic.

A couple of things you should know..Before this low compression issue started I was told by my mechanic that the bike needed a tune up and a cam chain tensioner...

Now, I rode my bike from my home to my GF's home one night (about 1 hour away). About 30 minutes into the ride i noticed my bike was smoking. I got off the freeway and rode into a small repair shop (by chance). I took off the rightside fairing and found a small hole in my loose radiator. The mounting bolt had fallen out and the radiator bumped the mount.. putting a small hole in it.. The radiator was leaking coolant onto my exhaust manifold, therefore causing it to smoke... I used some putty to seal the hole as best as I could and refilled the coolant resevoir. I noticed that there was still coolant in the radiator and resivoir... Just to be sure I took a gallon of water with me for the remaining 30 minutes of riding.

The next day I AAA'd the bike to the mechanic.

He called me and told me that my engine was shot and I needed a rebuild or a replacement... Which seemed odd. He also said that it wouldnt start...

Well, I started the bike that same day... and noticed that it idled very odd and that it did appear to have some sort of compression issue by inspection through the exhaust system.

I thought maybe it was the cam chain tensioner not allowing the intake/ exhaust valves to fully open/ close causing a compression issue...

Then I thought maybe the short block is Ok but that the head gasket may be worn out...

Any ideas? Or am I just totally screwed and in need of a new Long block

As for the clutch, I never had any issues with it. I just came out to the bike the other day and it wouldnt shift. So I am assuming that the clutch is sticking.

I think the bike has some issues and I am trying to address them one at a time. I needa good starting place though....

I think a good place to start is a compression/leak down test. So you can determine the state of the top end of the motor. The transmition issue in itself could and most likely will turn out to be pretty major on its own. If you don't have the equipment/knowledge to do a compression and leakdown test i would take it to a good reputable MOTORCYCLE mechanic and have them take a look for you.

F4i motors are prety cheap. Last one i rebuilt was a few tears ago and even back then it bordered on making more sense to just buy another and bolt it in and i do my own work so no paying labor.

Not to say you are at that point yet but you have to determin the condition of your motor before you go much further.

What makes you believe that I have transmission issues? I have never had any issues before and with the bike sitting I havent been on the bike to cause any... Is this common? Maybe seals go bad and ruin the transmission?

I could perform a compression test but I need to get the engine up and going so i can at least crank it right? Right now it doesnt crank... I checked the fuses and they seem ok. When I connect the bike (jump start it) to a good power source all the guages come on.. and when I go to fire the bike nothing happens... So I was thinking I should change the battery.

If you suspect a battery problem, pul out the bike battery altogether and try with you other battery connected straight to the bike terminals with you jumper leads, a good car battery will do. At least that way you can tell if the bike battery is the cause of you starting probs.
