Is there any way to find cheaper replacement parts for all the gaskets, o-rings, etc?
I've been using Bike Bandit previously for the OEM stuff, but they want $23 a pop for the float bowl gasket. I know this is supply and demand stuff (no one is buying for this model anymore) but it can't possibly cost that much to make a little piece of rubber...

Also, I'm noticing a lot of corrosion/rust on parts where it probably shouldn't be. Most notably my rear axel. I'm sure it would still roll just fine, but at what point should I be worried about that kind of wear?

I'll post some pics later today.

I seen someone a while back used big O rings for replacement float bowl gaskets, but dont remember which CBR forum it was. But I would think you could kind of lay a piece of string in place of the gasket, then cut to length, then butt the two ends together in the form of a circle, then get big round rubber circle gaskets the same size as your string circle. And use as new gaskets. Might take a little heat to form to shape needed for float bowls but it should be cheap enough to try. Even if it didnt work at least it was a cheap try.

For the o-rings, I purchased an entire set of multiple sizes from Harbor Freight. They are very reasonable.
Wherever you get them, you have to insure they are rated for gasoline else they will be eaten away after a while
