Bike has been sitting for 30 days should I drain the gas?
Ok, I was the idiot who was topping out his bike on Christmas eve on the 202 Freeway in AZ. My bike has been in the impound for 30 days (tomorrrow)!!! My question is should I drain the gasoline. I haven't been able to touch the bike since it was towed away, and I know its been sitting exposed the the rain and cold weather ( I doubt some towing company would put it inside). I filled up and drove about 8-10 miles (hell raising) before I stopped ( for the police) , so I know it's got a full tank. Can I drive it home on the gas it has in it now? Or should I drain the fuel before driving it home (to clean the **** out of it). I've always used 92 oct. gas....not sure if that helps.
P.S. After 30 days my impound charges are $630...I learned my lesson....don't speed and get caught J/K

Full tank is the best way to keep it, as I was told on this forum a while back... since that leaves less space for moisture to condense etc.
Anyway gas doesnt go bad in 30 days. 4-5 months might be pushing it :P Nothing a little seafoam cant fix though.
I've been away from my bike for almost a month now and it SUCKS!
Anybody here in Atlanta wanna lend me their f4i? ;( Wish they had bike rentals like cars

+1 on ampfp it should be just fine ,but seafoam will only help. Last year when i saved X-mas by pawnin my bike, it sat for just under 3 months with half a tank of gas. When I went and got her it fired up like a champ and then rode 30 miles to the dealer I thought I trusted (another story entirely). You should be fine. Besides that bike has been started more than once in that time period. Trust me I impound cars on the side. And there's always some assbag that wants to her how bikes sound.[:@]

Well I haven't gone to court for the ticket...that's tomorrow morning. Nope I didn't get arrested...I told the office I was blowing off steam that was built up while I was in the service in Afgan...He was a combat vet and understood. Still got a fat ticket though...
Not to mention my license was suspended while I was gettingShot aton the other side of the world...(photo radar) My little sister (16 year old) signed for a photo radar ticket that I got while I was on leave...I didn't show up to court...Lic suspended...Bummer.....

At any rate, you'll be fine with the fuel that's in it. Besides it's not like it's been sitting at the impound in North Dakota or something [:'(]
