It sounds like your cam chain tentioner is NO BUENO .

is it under some type of warrenty ?

most dealer will charge about 350-400 bucks for this job , if its going to be customer pay

I've heard ppl putting after market one too .. the one manually adjust tention..

and actually it should b cuz i JUST got a new motor put in it around feb. and i havent been riding it a lot since..only put about 1000 or so miles on it :/

are u for sure thats the problem? have u heard of this kinda problem before?

i hope not cuz damn this bike has been giving me hell! i only got about 14000 on the bike..and the original motor got locked up

and just curious wat does the aftermarket manual one due? any performance from it? thanks

stock chain tensioner is like the ONE fault the CBR lineup has had over the years, consistently. manual one doesnt offer anything for performance, but it'll make it absolutely reliable.

more than likely tensioner, or could possibly need a valve adjustment. But I would doubt either one if you only have 1000 miles on the engine. Unless the engine was torn apart and assembled. then it may be out of spec.

if you let it go too long it will only get worse, it is a super easy thing to change. ps. no the tensioner pad will not be worn out at 1000k but the spring is notoriously faulty especially with dirty oil in the engine which is possible if you didn't break in your motor properly when you got the re-build
