Default Electrical Problems CBR600F 2005

I bought my CBR600F brand new in June, from Wandsworth Honda, they fitted a Datatool System 7 Alarm. This problem started in November 2005, the bike has been in the garage 5 times or more.

When the bike gets hot (over 105) and stays hot for at least 20 minutes, when I stop and then try to start my bike again, all the lights on the dash flash, the clock re-sets itself and the bike will not start ( you can here the starter clicking). All the AA needs to do is jump start the bike and it works fine. Sometimes if I m lucky the bike will start again once it has cooled down below 80.

Honda Wandsworth have checked the battery, alarm, recharging electrics (regulators etc..) but they can’t find the fault, any ideas?

Thank you

Roger

Just a slight observation. Have you tried bypassing the alarm and then running the bike around to verify that it is not the alarm causing the problem? I doubt that is the problem but you never know. I am sure here shortly the smart people on this board will give you the correct answer.

Sounds like a bad ground. Honda has been poor in recent years about not removing the paint from the frame before the ground is attached. Trace the ground from the negative battery terminal (should be a 10 mm bolt, clean the paint from the frame with a steel brush, apply some di-electric grease to the terminal end and replace.
If is only doing it at the specific temp then I would have the dealer look at the MAP sensor.
Good luck and give more specific details to we (the forum) can isolate the problem.
