Cost of Power Pilot?
Just curious what you guys have been paying for a Pilot Power. I just got one for my F4, 180/55/17, for the rear at$159 on sale. Is that a decent price?
Geez, I should have asked before I bought the tire!

yup...should've asked...does that include mounting and balance? if so then it's a decent price...

The shop locally had a set of pilot powers for $230 a while back. I ended up getting just the rear 160 for about $150 mounted and balanced. But 160's are usually 10 bucks cheaper then 180's. I have an extra set of diablo's 180/120 that I got for $159.
Mounting and balancing are additional. I think it's $25 for wheel off the bike and $45 for the wheel on the bike. The price for the tire was originally marked for $245 and on sale for $159. I took ithook line and sinker. Next time, I'll be a bit more careful.
Maybe this doesn't belong here but what's the difference between 160, 170, 180, 190 etc. and the 55 and the 17, 18 whatever? What is the best size to buy for an '06 F4i? I keep reading everyone loves the PPs so that's what I'm getting next spring. I wonder if I'll really notice a difference from my stock ones?

170 (larger number) is mm wide (section width).
60 (smaller number) is height of sidewall expressed as a % of the width. In this case it would be 105 mm (170 x .60)
17 is rim size in inches
