Common CBR F4i Problems
Gotta 2001 CBR F4i with 16,000 miles. This seems to be the DEATH INTERVAL for F4is'. I need to change: CCT ( soo tired of the rattling noise ) - Chain ( now at the "replace" zone ) - and now the Speed Sensor???? Still not sure exactly but I need to know my speed. It playing games with me now. Tells me the speed for about a minute THEN drops tozero THEN FI light comes on. Anyone else have these problems and what did you do to resolve them?

I know mine has been nothing BUT totally reliable. I think the only issue I had with mine at 16k was a warped front brake rotor, and a tiny tiny bit of CCT noise (but not enough to warrant changing it yet.... by 32k though it was time). I did change the original chain at 14k though... it was getting kinks. Every chain I've had after that though has lasted about the same, around 15-18k, so I think that's about the normal lifespan. Other than that, never really had any problems whatsoever with it... she's been a dream! Clutch cable snapped at 65k, that's about it. Now at 86k and still running like a champ, and still drop dead reliable... I still take it everywhere!

the CCT going issue is obviously nothing new andthe chain is a general maint item
your only slightly abnormal issue is the speed sensor and thats a cheap fix
Doesn't really sound like your bike is about to collapse into rubble or anything...
My F4i on the other hand has about a dozen issues, but all are caused by a lot of brutal track use and a couple crashes bordering on complete destruction, plus a good bit of hack job style modifications (its still got a little Cali emissions crap in it)

Waterpump leaking too? Aaaaaaaaaah! Why? I've been babying this bike for years and this is what I get.Its a very slow leak, maybe several drops a day. AND YES its coming from the weep hole. Haven't rode bike yet since discovering it but I'll see if it gets worse when riding.
I owned my F4 from new. That bike was totaly babied. Only probs I had was a cct at 10k, and the centre stand seized around 20. Ive no idea why that happened, it was used everyday and kept sparkly.
Other than that, a bullet proof bike.
