Default Tick over problem.

Any ideas as to why my CBR600 has started to stammer when ticking over? The book says it should idle at about 1200rpm, which it does until the engine warms up. Then, at normal running temp, it fluctuates between 500rpm and 1200rpm. Sometimes, on odd occasion, it stalls. Even if I put the choke back on, it still fluctuates by around 700rpm. Someone suggested I need to re-set the carbs. Someone else said the timing chain needs looking at. Anyone out there had a similar problem?

mine fluctuates about 200rpm's i assume i need a carb sync. But also I got a manual CCT and it seemed to help it a little bit. It used to fluctuate about 400 rpm's. I would definatley recommend a manual CCT its about 45$
