Default Clutch is slipping

So when I got my tire replaced, the mechanic mentioned that my clutch is slipping. I noticed it when I went to do wheelies that I couldn't do them as easy. He told me that it is going to go out little by little. I just wanna ask, what can I do to prolong it as much as I can? Will quick shifting help? I know that will put problems on my tran, but will it prolong the life of my clutch? Cuzzzzz clutch kits and installing them aren't cheap (for me). Any suggestions on how I can keep it riding for as long as possible? Obviously I know not to treat it like a drag bike and burn the **** outta my clutch, but any good suggestions? anything I can do like tighten the cable or w/e..let me know PLZ! thanks!

I would grab my caliper and measure the friction plates and springs than examine the steel plates. How much free play does your clutch lever have?

If you can follow a tut on changing your clutch, its not that bad at all. I would buy the kit that has the springs, clutch bands and metal bands, undo your clutch cable, pull off your side cover, its like 8-10 bolts, 5 bolts with springs hold the clutch cover on, slowly pull out all the clutch bands - keep them in order!!! install new or measure the clutch disks and reuse if you can. tighten everything back to spec, hook up your clutch cable and adjust it, or have a shop adjust it, if needed.

Could you just tighten up the clutch springs some? It would make since that since the wear material is missing they should be pulled in some to have the same torque spec, or am I just talking out of my butt?

The mechanic already tightened the springs. He said he did as much as he could but it's going out. I think I will try to replace myself rather than spend the 150 for labor. I was just wondering if there anyways to prolong having to do so til I can get the money and the parts, cuz it's my only transportation so I can't afford to not have it running ya know. :/
