so putting my bike in the yard today after riding i turned it off. going to get off i realized the stand was sinking in to grass so i went to move it. i stared it back up(in neutral) when i went to put in to gear it stalled. i cant start in first anymore only neutral. i dont know if its the clutch or the clutch cable. is there a way to easly find out? its a 05 f4i with only about 2400 miles on it. i cant see how the clutch can be gone already. i bought it used. and if its just the cable how hard is it to get a new one on it. thanks

 

kickstand?

 

yes i put the kickstand down and it sunk in the grass thats when i went to move it and figured out somethings wrong

 

I meant are you trying to start it with the kickstand down?

 

Yea your kickstand is still down.... put the kickstand up and it'll be fine

 

well now i have a dead batery. left the key on... but thanks for the answer thats probley it.

i was about to ask why the stand mattered when you asked. then i thought how you would not ask for no reason. i would never think that something so simple as the kickstand could be the problem lol
