Default cleaning and lubing chain Question

I'm new to the bike thing and wondering what is the best way to clean and lube the chain. what products do i need to buy. thanks

Bike stands, there a god send. Make life much easier to clean and maitain your bike.

I use WD-40 to clean the chain really easy and makes it look good, then wipe off excess and lube, sparingly. I personally hate chain wax, it looks poo. so i stick with liquid lube, and clean more.

I agree with RCKT GRL. all the stuff ive used flings crap all over my bike but that Motorex lube and cleaner works wonders!

i heard wd 40 ruins teh o rings so i use engine degreaser and then us e abucket of water to run the crap away from the chain.

What ever cleaner and lube you go with, a swing arm stand makes the job sooo much easier. If you do use a stand, don't be tempted to start the bike and let it idle in first while you hold a rag to the chain. I have seen pictures of one guy who ran his finger through the rear sprocket (no, it could not be re-attached). It may sound like common sense, but some people still swear by this method.
