Default charging problem

im working on a gold wing 1984 1200 aspencade bike died on road charged it up it started i stated checking the system, i found rectifier bad i replaced it i charged battery but heres where im confused, on charger it had 12.5 volts it wouldnt get any higher i read it should be 12.8 or higher at full charge, i put battery in started it up warmed it but volt meter on battery reved engine voltage was low it dropped instaed of raising up to 14-15 volts liked its supposed to my question is do i have a bad battery or do i gotta look further than the rectifier. thanks greg

yea you need to check to see if the alternator is giving the rectifier the right amount of juice.
