how do i test to see if my 99 900rr is charging or not ?if i just pull the battery wire off while it is running should it stay running or should it die?????

Dang! Beat me to it! Just make sure your wires aren't burnt or corroded and ALL of the connections are good. It also wouldn't hurt to throw an extra ground wire to the reg/rec from the negative side of the battery.

You need to use a voltage meter on the battery, while the bike is running. The voltage should read between 13 to 15 volts.

Here is a link to where you can download a "fault finding" PDF document. Save it and print it out. If you follow the flow charts on it, it will help you trouble shoot battery, reg/req, and stator problems.
