charging problem which is most likely
riding my bike last night..... worked great right up to the ride home. dash lights started dimming and the headlight looked like a candle
I know it ran the battery dead..... barely made it home. It stalled and I coasted the last block into my yard.
which is the more likely culprit..... the voltage regulator or the stator?
as far as I know the stator usually dies slowly..... not abruptly like tonight, or am I wrong?
anyone with some insight?

RE: charging problem which is most likely
former owner was a monkey F@cker!
rectifier is fried.... along with 4 different wires. one wire seemed to be pinched and then grounded to the frame... one ground completely burnt up
the rectifier was zip tied to the battery box (no ground) dunno how it lasted this long
I boosted the bike this morning and put a meter on the stator wires..... puts out good current.... bike battery was good enough to boost the car after it was charged
sooooo...... now I gotta rewire a bunch and order a new rectifier
nothings picks my butt worse than people who jerry rig IMPORTANT stuff
